Global teachers meet talular in Malawi
This week seventeen Scottish teachers arrived in Dedza. They will live with local families and work in district primary schools. The Global teacher programme in Dedza is organised through Mr Kamowa (District Education Manager), Mr Chipaka (Coordinating Primary Education Advisor ) and Liz Bartley (Dedza project manager). During orientation the teachers were introduced to TALULAR (Teaching And Learning using Locally Available Resources). Some of things they learned: how to make poster sized paper (A1) from 8 sheets of A4 pasted together using nsima (cooked maize meal); how to fill an empty roll-on- deoderant bottle with paste or paint and how a water filled condom makes a great magnifier...
